Deliverables: Uniforms, Advertisements, Towels and Dufflebags

This project was created for the Washington Redskins after they announced they were changing their name and brand identity. I have conducted research on social media, listened to the fans of the Washington Football Team, and I’ve come to some realizations. I understand that they want to keep the color palette, and have an exciting name that is intimidating to any opposing teams. Within this new Design System, I decided to name the team the “Washington Wolverines” because the name is fierce, and the animal is located in Washington DC. Another reason why I chose this name is because it can be tied back to Native American culture because the Innu, Wabanaki and other tribes in North America told stories about Wolverines. The Wolverine I created inspired the logo for the Washington Football Team with its rugged design. The logo I created is a “W” with a slash across it to represent the Wolverine cutting through the logo. I also decided to make the Wolverine rugged and realistic to go with the new Design System. The uniforms that I have created utilize the cut marks in order to create a new look and tie it back to the animal. I have included many different ways of advertising the team from social media advertisements, to billboards, and a short motion piece. The hashtag “scratch them” is created as a chant to get fans hyped up during the games and cheer the team on. This is also used to advertise the team on social media and help rebrand the team. Lastly, I created some towels and duffle bags.
